Good News 360 Church Leaders Conference 2026: Chapter-by-Chapter Expositional Series

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As we continue our journey through the Book of Hebrews in preparation for the 41st Good News 360 Church Leaders Conference 2026, we arrive at Hebrews Chapter 3, a chapter that calls God's people to unwavering faithfulness by fixing their eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ. After presenting Christ as the eternal Son in Hebrews 1 and the compassionate Savior in Hebrews 2, the author now presents Him as the Apostle and High Priest of our confession (Heb. 3:1). The chapter challenges every believer—and especially every ministry leader—to remain steadfast in faith and to guard against the subtle danger of an unbelieving heart.

Consider Jesus (Heb. 3:1)

Hebrews 3 begins with a remarkable invitation: "Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus" (Heb. 3:1). Before discussing ministry strategies, leadership principles, or church growth, the Holy Spirit directs our attention to Christ Himself. The effectiveness of our ministry will always flow from the depth of our relationship with the One we serve. In an age filled with distractions, competing priorities, and endless demands, the Church's greatest need is not a new method but a renewed focus on Jesus Christ.

Christ Greater Than Moses (Heb. 3:2-6)

The chapter then presents a powerful comparison between Moses and Christ. Moses was indeed faithful as a servant in God's house, but Christ is faithful as the Son over God's house (Heb. 3:2-6). Moses pointed forward to God's redemptive plan; Christ fulfilled it. Moses served within the household of faith; Christ is the Builder, Owner, and Lord of the house. This distinction reminds us that while we honor faithful servants of God, our ultimate allegiance belongs to Christ alone. Every pastor, missionary, evangelist, and Bible teacher serves under the authority of the risen Lord, whose ministry alone is perfect and eternal.

The Warning Against an Unbelieving Heart (Heb. 3:7-15)

The focus then shifts to one of the most sobering warnings in the New Testament. Drawing from Psalm 95, the writer repeatedly declares, "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts" (Heb. 3:7-15). Israel's wilderness generation witnessed God's mighty works, yet failed to enter His promised rest because of persistent unbelief and disobedience. Their outward experiences could not replace genuine faith. This warning speaks directly to the Church today. It is possible to participate in ministry, attend worship, and witness God's blessings, while gradually allowing unbelief, discouragement, compromise, or spiritual complacency to harden the heart.

Encouragement for Christian Leaders in India

For Christian leaders serving throughout India, Hebrews 3 offers timely encouragement and solemn exhortation. Ministry often brings opposition, weariness, persecution, and disappointment. Cultural pressures, religious pluralism, and the temptation to compromise biblical truth can slowly weaken spiritual resolve. Yet Hebrews reminds us that perseverance is not sustained by human determination alone but by continually looking to Christ and encouraging one another daily. Healthy churches are built by leaders who faithfully exhort one another, cultivate genuine faith, and refuse to allow sin's deceitfulness to gain a foothold within the body of Christ.

This chapter also speaks directly to our conference theme, "Transformed by Christ, Building the Next Generation in Faith." We cannot build spiritually healthy churches if we neglect the condition of our own hearts. The next generation needs leaders who demonstrate enduring faith, humble obedience, and unwavering confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ. They need shepherds who not only proclaim God's Word but also model perseverance through trials and faithfulness until the end.
